University Offers Prayers, Supplies to Support Bahamas

The University has embarked on a campus-wide relief effort for those in the Bahamas affected by Hurricane Dorian.

The Palm ϳԹ Atlantic community joined together for a prayer vigil Sunday evening in the DeSantis Family Chapel.

The University’s Workship office in the William G. Lassiter Student Center, 900 S. Olive Ave., is a collection site for supplies donated to the Green Turtle Cay Foundation and Eagles’ Wings Foundation. No used clothes will be accepted.

Green Turtle Cay Foundation is collecting the following:

Bleach
Cleaning Supplies
Extension Cords
Tents
Mosquito Netting
Air Mattresses
Eagles’ Wings Foundation is collecting:

Tarps
Nails
Hammers
Wrenches
Batteries
Battery Operated Lights
Solar Lights
Camp Stoves
Butane Cans
Small BBQ Grills
Tylenol, Advil
Bandages
Antibiotic Ointment Bleach
Mosquito Nets & Spray
Towels
Sheets Blankets
Air Mattresses & Pumps
Toilet Paper
Tissue Paper
Hygiene Products
Baby Supplies
Because cash is the most immediate, useful and versatile way to give, the University has also publicized a donation page for Green Turtle Cay Foundation, Eagles’ Wings Foundation and Samaritan’s Purse.

At this time, there are no confirmed volunteer trips. Relief organizations are determining the needs in the affected areas.
