PBA News

ϳԹ’s 50th Anniversary celebration will culminate with Founders Day.

The program begins 11 a.m. in the Greene Complex, 1100 S. Dixie Highway, with President William M. B. Fleming, Jr. presiding. Three former presidents – Dr. George Borders, Dr. Paul R. Corts and Dr. David W. Clark – plus family members of two former presidents will participate in the service as honored guests.

Patrick Moody ’76, son of founding President Dr. Jess C. Moody, will represent his father, who died at age 93 in December. Claude H. Rhea III will represent his father, the late Dr. Claude H. Rhea, Jr., who served as president from 1982 to 1990.

To celebrate this special Founders Day, the University commissioned a piece from music professor Dr. Timothy Thompson. The piece, called “The Steadfast Love of the Lord,” is based on Psalm 33. It will be performed Wednesday for the first time.

Prior to the ceremony, the university will host a reception from 9 to 10:15 a.m. in the Weyenberg Center, 900 South Olive Ave.

Anyone who cannot attend the Founders Day ceremony may view it live online.
